Abstract:
The invention provides a frame of a saddle-ride type vehicle and a manufacturing method of a down frame, capable of suppressing increase of weight and improving the rigidity. A frame 1 of a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a head pipe, a down frame 3 hanging down from the head pipe, and two side frames extending rearward from a left connecting end face 51L and a right connecting end face 51R at both ends in the vehicle width direction at a lower end portion 5 of the down frame 3. The width of the lower end 5 in a front view is larger than the width of the central portion 33 on the upper sideof the lower end 5. Further, on both of the front surface 4F and the rear surface 4R of the lower end 5, a pair of step portions 53L and 53R and step portions 54L and 54R extending along the longitudinal direction are formed on both sides in the vehicle width direction.
