To provide a certain, practical manufacturing method for a full-face type disc wheel by facilitating a thickness reducing process applied to the rear surface of a work to a full-face type disc.

Installing a full-face type disc at the flange-free end of a rim furnished with a rim flange only on one side, is executed so that the rear surface of the disc ranging from the end abutting part of the rim to the peripheral edge is subjected previously to the thickness reducing process consisting of forging, the flange-free end of the rim is joined with and mounted on the thickness reduced portion upon location, and then the join is welded. This does not require a special skillfulness to make the thickness reducing process to the rear of the disc to assure good producibility and good production efficiency, and further a work hardening can be expected owing to forging, and mass-production of high-durability, high-quality disc wheels can be established at low cost.
