Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method for a gas diffusing layer showing water repellent after forming paste in to a film, although the paste is hydrophilic.

In this manufacturing method for the gas diffusing layer of a membrane-electrode junction body, the gas diffusing layer of the membrane-electrode junction body is formed by laminating a proton exchange membrane, an electrode catalyst layer, and the gas diffusing layer, and the method includes a process to apply a hydrophilization treatment to powder, a process to make paste by mixing the hydrophilized powder with a high polymer electrolyte and a solvent, and a process to form the paste into the film on a base material sheet, and a process to apply a water repellent treatment to the surface of the paste formed into the film.
