Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method of a heat generating fixing belt that is provided to an image fixing unit, and suppresses variation of resistance value of a heat generating layer and has excellent fixing stability (fixing unevenness resistance) even when fixing processing is performed under a high-temperature fixing environment for a long period.

A manufacturing method of a heat generating fixing belt provided to an image fixing unit of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes at least: (1) a resin layer forming process; (2) a heat generating layer forming process of forming a heat generating layer containing a conductive material in a thermosetting resin; (3) an elastic layer forming process; (4) a mold release layer forming process; and (5) a heat aging process of flowing a current in the heat generating layer to generate heat after the (4) mold release layer forming process, and causing the heat generating layer to be subjected to heat aging processing within a temperature range of 200 to 450°C.
