To provide a manufacturing method of a Helmholtz type muffler capable of reducing a manufacturing cost, while highly accurately finishing an edge part.
The method is provided for manufacturing the Helmholtz type muffler having an air chamber part curved in the longitudinal direction and being a circular arc shape in a side view and a communication hole part for communicating the air chamber part with the air chamber part outside, and used by being installed in a vehicular wheel, by a blow molding method. The manufacturing method of the muffler comprises the steps of introducing a parison of an outer diameter dimension of not forming a collapsed part in both-side edge parts in the short direction into a metal mold in a state of retreating a metal mold slide part for forming a main surface for constituting the projection side and/or the recessed side of the air chamber part, closing a peripheral part of the metal mold while retreating the metal mold slide part and forming the air chamber part by advancing the metal mold slide part while blowing up the parison.
