Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of hydrocarbon capable of obtaining hydrocarbon with a larger carbon number at high yield under existence of a catalyst from cellulosic biomass passing through the state of saccharides.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of hydrocarbon includes: a first reaction step in which cellulosic biomass is hydrolyzed and saccharified to obtain saccharides; and a second reaction step in which sugar alcohol obtained by hydrogenating saccharides is hydrocracked to obtain hydrocarbon. The first reaction step and the second reaction step are progressed under existence of the same Ir-Re based catalyst to obtain hydrocarbon in which a carbon number of saccharides which is mainly obtained in the first reaction step is maintained.
