A manufacturing method of a key input device comprises processes of: inserting a key 2 including a pressing part 22 and an extended part 21 extending from the pressing part 22 in a direction in which projections 12A and 12B of a housing 1 protrude, into an aperture 11 of the housing 1 including the projections 12A and 12B which protrude to surround the aperture 11, from the direction opposite to the direction in which the projections 12A and 12B protrude so that the pressing part 22 is exposed on the outside of the housing 1; and fitting a key rubber 3 including a recess part 31 housing the extended part 21 and outer peripheral projections 32A and 32B disposed on an external wall of the recess part 31, into a space formed by internal walls 121A and 121B so that the recess part 31 houses the extended part 21 and a whole circumference of the internal walls of the projections 12A and 12B adheres closely to the outer peripheral projections 32A and 32B, from the direction opposite to the direction in which the projections 12A and 12B protrude.
