Abstract:
To prevent the constriction of a glass fine particle deposit from being formed when manufacturing the glass fine particle deposit to reduce a possibility of breaking the glass fine particle deposit.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass fine particle deposit which deposits glass fine particles on the tip of a seed rod in the axis direction to form the glass fine particle deposit comprises: the initial pulling control step of pulling the glass fine particle deposit with a preset pulling speed pattern; and the regular pulling control step of pulling the glass fine particle deposit so as to intercept a laser beam by the tip part of the glass fine particle deposit to fix the amount of light received of the laser beam after the initial pulling control step. The regular pulling control step includes a transition stage until fixing the amount of light received of the laser beams at first, and the variation per minute of the pulling speed of the glass fine particle deposit in the transition stage is smaller than the pulling speed of the initial pulling control step just before the regular pulling control step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
