Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell, which are capable of suppressing generation of wrinkles and pinholes due to swelling in a polymer electrolyte membrane when a catalyst layer is formed on the polymer electrolyte membrane.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly comprises: drying a catalyst ink simultaneously with applying the catalyst ink from a spray nozzle 32 to one surface of a polymer electrolyte membrane 41, to form a first catalyst layer 43; thereafter applying a catalyst ink from a die nozzle 37 onto the first catalyst layer 43 to form a second catalyst layer 44; and drying the catalyst ink of the second catalyst layer 44.
