Abstract:
The method involves clamping a section of a single metallic thin wire (2) in a lengthwise rotatable clamp (11), and applying tension to a free end of the wire. The wire is twisted by rotating the clamp, to rotate the wire in a primary direction. The wire is then twisted in an opposite direction and is heat treated to remove residual stress. An independent claim is also included for a medical tool which incorporates a metallic thin wire.
