Abstract:
To reduce the consumed energy cost while retaining a product at a high purity by improving a process in a distillation-refining step in the manufacture of a methylamine.
The manufacturing method of methylamines comprises causing at least either one of methanol and a methylamine mixture to catalytically react with ammonia in a gas phase in the presence of a solid acid catalyst and separating a monomethylamine from the-thus obtained reaction mixture, where the monomethylamine is obtained as a side-cut fraction from the second to tenth theoretical plate of a monomethylamine separation column.
