Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method for a mold for the single crystal precision casting which is reliable and efficient in reinforcing the mold of a selector portion.

A mold (140) of the selector portion is formed by placing a corresponding wax pattern in a form, pouring the slurry of a ceramic material therein, hardening it, melting and removing the wax pattern, and heating and baking the ceramic material. A mold (150) other than the selector portion is formed of a ceramic material by a conventional lost wax method. A mold (100) for the single crystal precision casting is completed by joining these two molds by an adhesive (300). The ceramic material of the slurry for forming the mold of the selector portion is formed by blending and mixing 30-50 wt.% colloidal silica in mullite particles of the material same as that of the mold of a portion other than the selector portion, and further blending and mixing 5-20 wt.% magnesia powder to the colloidal silica, which is rapidly hardened and efficient in forming the mold of the selector portion.
