Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of a molded body capable of stably providing a molded body useful as a catalyst carrier and having high strength, a catalyst for α-olefin dimerization in which the molded body is a carrier, and a manufacturing method of an a α-olefin dimer using the catalyst.SOLUTION: A molded body is obtained by molding a mixture containing 100 pts.mass of a compound (A) having a median diameter (d50) of 50 μm to 600 μm and represented by AX, wherein A, X and n are described in the application, and 1 pts.mass to 30 pts.mass of a compound (B) satisfying conditions: (i) a median diameter (d50) is 1 μ to 40 μm, (ii) a mass increase rate when stood in atmosphere of 25°C and relative humidity of 65% with an atmosphere contact surface of 100 cm/g for 3 hours is 10 mass% or less, and (iii) pH of a liquid when impregnated into water is 6.8 or more. A catalyst for α-olefin dimerization is manufactured using the resulting molded body as a carrier, and the catalyst is used for manufacturing an α-olefin dimer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
