Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a molding that enables efficient mass production of moldings by the electromagnetic forming.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a molding includes the steps of: disposing cylindrical material 100 to be molded composed of aluminum or aluminum alloy material, into a cavity 18 of an outer die 10 for the electromagnetic forming, including the cavity 18 and having been cooled to cryogenic temperature; disposing an electromagnetic forming coil body 12 inside the material 100 to be molded; and pressing the material 100 to be molded against the cavity 18, expanding and molding the material, by electromagnetic force generated by applying a current to the electromagnetic forming coil body 12, and obtaining a molding 1. The step of cooling the outer die 10 for the electromagnetic forming to cryogenic temperature can be executed by a Stirling cooler 17 provided at the outer die 10 for the electromagnetic forming, or by circulating liquid nitrogen in the outer die 10 for the electromagnetic forming.
