Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an optical medium with satisfactory yield by a method, wherein a connection light leading part has a diameter and the opening number equal to or substantially equal to a light leading part, or has a mode field diameter equal to or substantially equal to the light leading part. SOLUTION: In a connection member 20, a plurality of flexible fibers 21 of a prescribed length as a connection light leading part which coats a low refractive index coat layer 22 are prepared, and these are looped, and one end 21a of each looped fiber 21 is arranged sequentially in a straight line, and after arrangement, other ends 21b of each loop are continued, and end parts 21a, 21b of the looped fiber 21 are arrayed, and these end parts 21a, 21b are buried with a substance 25 transparent for lights of an excitation light wavelength to integrate. The fiber 21 which is such a connection light leading part is provided with a diameter and the opening number equal to or substantially equal to the light leading part. Or a mode field diameter equal to or substantially equal to the light leading part is formed.
