Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing an organic EL element forming stable pixels by zoning pixel electrodes formed in a pattern on a substrate by barrier ribs formed with the use of a stable barrier rib forming method with a simple manufacturing process and high productivity, and using a droplet discharging method in each zone, as well as an organic EL element, and a device using the organic EL element.

In the method of manufacturing the organic EL element manufacturing an organic EL element having an organic compound layer containing at least one light-emitting layer on a pixel electrode zoned by a plurality of lattice-shaped barrier ribs formed on a substrate and a second electrode by a manufacturing device comprising a pixel electrode forming step, a barrier rib forming step, an organic compound layer forming step, and a second electrode forming step, the barrier rib forming step forms the barrier ribs by an electrostatic absorption nozzle discharging method, and the light-emitting layer is formed on the pixel electrode by the droplet discharging method in the organic compound forming step.
