To provide a manufacturing method of an ornament which can execute the fine decoration by a plated layer on a surface of a base material, facilitate the manufacture by variously changing the pattern of the decoration, and realize the manufacture at a low cost even the lot is small.

The ornament 11 comprises the stainless steel plate-like base material 12, the plated layer 13 formed on the surface of the base material 12, and a coating layer 14 by coating or printing. The plated layer 13 is formed on a predetermined location on the surface of the base material 12 so as to form a predetermined pattern such as a pattern and a letter. On the other hand, the coating layer 14 is formed on a portion of the surface of the base material 12 in which no plated layer 13 is formed. The ornament 11 is manufactured by forming the coating layer 14 on the surface of the base material 12, removing a part thereof through the radiation of laser beams to expose the surface of the base material 12, and forming the plated layer 13 on the surface of the exposed base material 12.
