Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a porous metal material which has longer and finer holes at lower cost, wherein the overall shape and dimensions of the porous metal material and the shape and dimensions of the holes can be appropriately and freely set, the degree of freedom in design is dramatically improved, and the porous metal material has excellent cooling ability due to a heat sink and the like, and can be provided as a higher performance material at low cost even when used as a catalyst, an electrode, a vibration absorber, a sound absorbing material, a shock absorbing material, and the like; and a method of manufacturing the same. [Solution] A perforated casting is characterized in that one or a plurality of heat-resistant wire drawing holes are opened in the surface thereof. Furthermore, provided is a method in which one or a plurality of heat-resistant wires are provided in a mold, a molten metal or a semiconductor material is supplied and solidified, and the heat-resistant wires are then pulled out, so that the perforated casting is obtained.
