Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a piston of a disc brake for a vehicle, wherein a corner portion between an outer peripheral end portion on an open end portion side and an open end portion is formed into a desired fillet shape by spinning using a pressing roller without preforming a substrate having a straight cylinder shape. In this method, a substrate have a bottomed cylindrical shape is rotated; by pressing a groove forming roller having a convex groove forming portion from the outer periphery of the substrate, an annular groove is formed; an open end side outer peripheral end portion, an open end portion and a corner portion are formed by pressing from the open end portion and the outer periphery to a corner portion forming roller, wherein the corner portion forming roller has an outer peripheral end portion forming portion in contact with the open end side outer peripheral end portion of the substrate; an open end forming portion in contact with the openend of the substrate; and a corner forming portion having a rounded corner shape for forming a corner portion between an outer peripheral end portion on the open end side and the open end portion.
