To provide a pneumatic tire with a uniform gap between a protecting layer and a belt layer in a tire radial direction, and a manufacturing method of the pneumatic tire.
This pneumatic tire is of the following structure comprising the following components: (1) a toroidal carcass 6 anchored in a pair of bead cores 5, (2) two or more layered belt layers 7 which are located outside of a crown part of the carcass in the tire 1 radial direction and composed of a rubber-covered cord extending obliquely in the tire peripheral direction, (3) a cushioning rubber layer 8 located outside of the belt layers in the tire radial direction, (4) one or more layered protecting layers 9 which are located outside of the cushioning rubber layer in the tire 1 radial direction and composed of a rubber-covered cord extending in the peripheral direction of the tire, and (5) a tread part 2 which is located outside of the protecting layer in the tire 1 radial direction and has a plurality of tire peripheral grooves extending in the tire peripheral direction. In addition, a gap layer 11 is formed in at least, either of the gap between the protecting layer and the cushioning rubber later or the gap between the cushioning rubber layer and the belt layer, inside at least, one tire peripheral groove in the tire radial direction.
