Abstract:

To provide a simple manufacturing method of a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous secondary battery which is made of a compound that contains lithium, nickel, and manganese, and has a layered structure.

In the manufacturing method of the positive electrode active material for the non-aqueous secondary battery, a mixture of a metal compound which contains lithium, nickel, manganese, and boron, and is made of a compound that contains lithium, nickel, and manganese and has a layered structure, is calcinated. The compound which contains lithium, nickel, and manganese and has the layered structure is expressed in the X-ray diffraction in formula Li[Ni(x-y)Li(1/3-2x/3)Mn(2/3-x/3-y)Co2y] O2(provided that x is larger than 0 and 0.5 or less, y is 0 or more and 1/6 or less, and x > y), and is a compound identified as a compound having the layered structure.
