PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a press-formed article which has high formed height by hot-stamping, and a press apparatus.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a press-formed article comprises a preparation step, a heating step, and a hot-stamping step. In the preparation step, a blank S composed of a metal sheet is prepared. In the heating step, the blank S is heated. In the hot-stamping step, the heated blank S is pressed by a press apparatus 1 thereby obtaining a press-formed article having an opening 13. In the hot-stamping step, the opening 13 is provided in the blank S during the period from working start of the blank S by the press apparatus 1 to working end.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
