Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method of a rack teeth die and a rear uneven die having high degree of accuracy, easily correctable, hard to be broken and allowing easy manufacture of the corrected die.
SOLUTION: A material for the die is subjected to wire-cut electric discharge machining in a immersed state in oily electric discharge machining liquid, and imparted with complementary shape of the rack teeth of the rack shaft thereto. The material for the die is comprised of a plurality of segment materials 21 which are subjected to the wire-cut electric discharge machining in an assembled state in the same way as the die for molding the rack teeth. The complementary shapes of each opposing teeth flanks of the rack teeth of the hollow rack shaft molded by this process are imparted to each of the segment materials.
