Abstract:

To provide a Cu/NbTi-based reinforced type Nb3Sn wire satisfying all characteristics such as tensile strength and rupture stress.

In this Cu/NbTi-based reinforced type Nb3Sn wire 10, a Cu/NbTi-based reinforcing material layer 11 is formed in its center part in order to enhance strength of the Nb3Sn wire being a superconductive wire. By setting the diameter of a NbTi filament 17 embedded in the Cu/NbTi-based reinforcing material layer 11 is set at an appropriate value, its strength can be enhanced, and, when the diameter of the NbTi filament 17 is set to 10-40 μm, the tensile strength of the elemental NbTi filament 17 can be set over 600 MPa. As a result, 0.02% bearing force of the Cu/NbTi-based reinforced type Nb3Sn wire 10 can be set above 300 MPa.
