Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a rigid polyurethane foam improved in curing rate, moldability, and physical properties even when the amt. of water used as a blowing agent is increased without using a chlorofluorocarbon blowing agent by using a specific amine compd. as the catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A rigid polyurethane foam is produced by reacting a polyol component with a polyisocyanate component in the presence of an amine catalyst, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer under conditions that at least one amine compd. selected from among compds. represented by the formula (wherein A is a 11-14C alkyl; and R1 and R2 are each a 1-6C alkyl) is used as the amine catalyst and that water or a mixture thereof with a hydrocarbon, a hydrochlorofluorocarbon, or a hydrofluorocarbon is used as the blowing agent in an amt. of water of 2-15 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polyol component.
