To provide a manufacturing method for a rubber composition capable of enhancing the balance of light weight, a reinforcement property and a low heat-generation property.
In the manufacturing method for the rubber composition, a water suspension of a fibrillated cellulose is immersed in an organic solvent comprising at least one of a monovalent alcohol and a ketone having a boiling point of 120°C or lower, and thereafter it is dried to obtain a dried substance of the fibrillated cellulose not substantially containing a granular filler, and the dried substance of the cellulose and 5-15 wt.% of a silane coupling agent represented by formula (1) relative to the cellulose are added to and mixed with a diene rubber. Formula (1) is (R1)m(R2)nSi-A (1) (In the formula, R1 represents a 1-3C alkoxy group, R2 represents a 1-40C alkyl group, A represents a functional group containing a sulfur atom, m=1-3, and m+n=3).
