To provide a manufacturing method of a sealed honeycomb structure which is free from a restriction on working surroundings, enables manufacturing sealed honeycomb structures without defects inexpensively and allows the reduction of the amount of industrial wastes.

The manufacturing method of a sealed honeycomb structure uses a slurry filling machine 20 which has a container 21 containing a sealing slurry 50 and being opened in the upper part and a lid 23 being provided in the apertural area of the container 21 and flat in the upper surface and having two or more through holes 25 communicating between the inside and the outside of the container 21 and arranged at locations opposite to a cell 19 to be sealed in the end face of a honeycomb structure 2. The honeycomb structure 2 is mounted on the lid 23 so that the open end of a to-be-sealed cell 19 fits the through hole 25, and the inside of the opened end of the cell 19 to be sealed of the honeycomb structure 2 is filled with the sealing slurry 50 contained in the container 21 through the through hole 25 to form a sealed part.
