To provide a manufacturing method of a sealed honeycomb structure which fills up a cell end of the honeycomb structure with a sealing material so that the cell end can be sealed so as to prevent communication between the inside and the outside of the cell.
The manufacturing method of the sealed honeycomb structure has a masking step provided with a mask 11 having an injection hole 12 with a gravity center 13 of an injection hole shifted from the gravity center 9 of the cell opening at an opening 5 of cell 3 where the cell is arranged to the honeycomb structure 1 to be sealed, and a filling step of a sealing material to feed a fluid sealing material 31 from the injection hole 12 to the inside of the cell 3 while generating repulsive pressure.
