To provide a method for surely and efficiently manufacturing a mesh-surface type sheet heater having water permeability and air permeability.
This method is used for manufacturing a sheet heater 1 having a plain-woven woven material 5 formed by interweaving weft threads 2 each having a conductive string, insulating warp threads 3, and electrode wires 4, 4. The method includes: processes of: applying a surface treatment for enhancing adhesion to an insulating polymer 8 to parts of the conductive strings excluding both ends thereof; manufacturing the woven material 5 by interweaving the weft threads 2, the warp threads 3 and the electrode wires 4, 4 to form perforations in a matrix-like form; applying an adhesive to surfaces of the electrode wires 4, 4 woven in the woven material 5; and insulating and coating the circumferences of the conductive strings and the electrode wires 4, 4 by applying a coating liquid containing the insulating polymer 8 to the woven material 5 and drying it to form the perforations into through-holes 9 penetrating the front and back surfaces without being closed.
