Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cast billet for blank of a wire rod and a bar steel having good machinability in the center part. SOLUTION: The cast billet satisfying the range of 1.5-5.0 in a center segregation ratio of S in the continuous casting is cast, and successively, the obtained cast billet is diffusion-annealed, thus the center segregation ratio of C is controlled to 1-1.2.
