Abstract:

To manufacture a slag for a cement raw material from steel making slag at low cost without special treatment such as secondary heat treatment and the like to the slag after cooling.

In a cooling step of the steel making slag generated in a steel making step and having a slag basicity (mass ratio: %CaO/%SiO2) of 2 or more, cooling is performed at an average cooling speed from 1,000 to 700°C of 10 °C/min or more. C3S existing in high temperature slag can be kept after cooling without being decomposed to C2S and CaO by controlling and optimizing cooling speed in a specific high temperature range and then high cement activity as the cement raw material can be obtained due to the C3S.
