Abstract:

To improve the seizing resistance of a machine component having on the sliding surface a sulfide-based solid lubricating film.

The slide member is improved in the seizing resistance in a manner that the surface roughness Rmax prior to the sliding in an interface surface between the sulfide-based solid lubricating film and a metal member is made to be 1 μm or more. The slide member is obtained in such a way that an electrolysis solution used is an aqueous solution in which one or more kinds of thiocyanates or thiosulfates of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal are dissolved, and the steel member adjusted for the surface roughness is immersed in this electrolysis solution, and then the steel member as a positive pole is electrolytically treated and the steel member is made to provide on the surface an iron sulfide-based film using as reactants an Fe component of steel in the member and an S component in the solution.
