Abstract:
To provide a novel manufacturing method of a sulfur-containing amino acid.
The manufacturing method of a sulfur-containing amino acid represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof comprises a step of causing a sulfur-containing 2-ketocarboxylic acid represented by formula (2) or a salt thereof to react with ammonia and hydrogen in the presence of a transition metal complex. In formula (1), R1 is an optionally substituted 1-12C alkyl group or an optionally substituted 3-12C cycloalkyl group and n is an integer of 1-4. In formula (2), R1 and n are each the same as defined above.
