Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of thermoelectric material which can improve the performance index and get the performance index of 2.8×10<-3> (1/K) or over, preferably, high performance index of 3.4×10<-3> (1/K) or over, and a thermoelectric conversion element. SOLUTION: The manufacture of thermoelectric material has a process of getting powder material by cooling and solidifying fused mother alloy containing at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Bi and Sb and at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Te and Se, at a cooling speed of 10<3> K/sec or over, and a process of molding this powder material by extrusion. Moreover, the thermoelectric conversion element is obtained, using this thermoelectric material, and the direction of the current and the thermal flow is specified in the direction of extrusion.
