To provide a thermoplastic resin sheet excellent in transparency and a method for producing the sheet.
The method for producing the thermoplastic resin sheet includes a process in which a molten thermoplastic resin sheet S extruded downward from a T-die 1 is cooled by being passed with cooling water W through the slit 2a of an upper part water tank 2 arranged below the T-die 1, passed between a pair of press rolls 3 and 4 arranged below the water tank 2, and passed through the cooling water W in a lower part water tank 5 arranged below a pair of the press rolls 3 and 4 to be solidified. The slit 2a of the upper part water tank 2 has a pair of slit walls 2b and 2b slanting symmetrically downward from the bottom wall of the water tank 2 to approach each other. The corner part between the bottom wall 2c and each slit wall 2b is rounded. The cooling water W passed through the slit 2a is contacted with the resin sheet S at a cooling water spraying position by 22-65 mm below the bottom surface of the water tank 2 in the vertical direction.
