To provide a manufacturing method of a transmission belt which can prevent the generation of roughness of a rubber surface by smoothly extruding a laminate comprising an inner layer of compressed rubber in which short fibers are mixed and a surface layer of the other rubber, reduce the number of manufacturing processes and decrease noise during running, and to provide a transmission belt obtained by the method.
A double layered tubular extruded body comprising the inner layer of a short fiber-containing rubber composition in which the short fibers are oriented by using an expansion die and the surface layer of the other rubber composition is placed between an inner die 41 equipped with a flexible jacket 42 and an outer die 46 on which rib dies 45 are carved, and then the flexible jacket 42 is expanded to make a preformed body. After at least a core wire 48 is wound on the surface of the flexible jacket 42 of the inner die 41, the core wire 48 and the preformed body are integrally vulcanized by expanding the jacket 42 to manufacture a vulcanized belt sleeve. The transmission belt is manufactured in this manner.
