To provide a manufacturing method for a transmission belt wherein a fiber material is made to contain a large amount of powdery lubricant containing at least a fluoroplastic powder, in a form of facilitating exertion of an effect of reducing a coefficient of friction, so as to reduce the frictional resistance of the fiber material for a long period, and thereby to improve the life of the belt in regard to a rubber belt which is covered wholly or partially with the fiber material.
In the manufacturing method for the transmission belt, the fiber material is impregnated with a first treating solution prepared by adding the powdery lubricant containing at least a fluoroplastic powder 23 to a resorcin-formalin-rubber latex treating solution, and by dispersing it therein and is dried, so that the lubricant is clustered on the surface and the rear of the fiber material or between fibers. Then, the material is further impregnated with a second treating solution constituted of a rubber cement to which an isocyanate compound to an epoxy compound is added, and dried, and a first unvulcanized rubber layer 5 is stuck thereto. The treated fiber material thus obtained is vulcanized integrally with a belt main body.
