A substantially disk-shaped first component 10 integrally having a disk 11 and one end 12 of a rim is cast, and a cylindrical second component 20 provided as a preform for a thick-walled rim is cast. The first component 10 has an annular recess 15 between the disk 11 and one end 12 of the rim, and has a pair of annular first joining faces 18, 19 located on the outer and inner sides in the radial direction of the annular recess 15. The second component 20 has a pair of annular joining faces 28, 29 facing the pair of first joining faces 18, 19 of the first component 10 on its end face. Next, the pair of first joining faces 18, 19 of the first component 10 and the pair of second joining faces 28, 29 of the second component 20 are subjected to the friction welding to each other. Next, the second component 20 is subjected to spinning to form an intermediate portion 20a and the other end 20b of the rim.
