Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of vinyl polymers, in which a retarding agent can be added in a polymerization system without using an organic solvent even under cold circumstances and clotting of the retarding agent in a charging tank or a pipe arrangement and blocking in the pipe arrangement thereby can be prevented.
SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of vinyl polymers is characterized by comprising a stage to polymerize a vinyl monomer in an aqueous solvent in a polymerization vessel by a radical reaction and a stage to charge the retarding agent having a melting point of 40°C or lower into the polymerization vessel from a charging tank for the retarding agent via the piping arrangement for charging the retarding agent, wherein the retarding agent is added in the polymerization vessel under the condition that the retarding agent is kept to be a liquid having a viscosity of 200 mPa.s or less by keeping the charging tank for the retardant agent and the piping arrangement for charging the warm retardant agent.
