A maleic anhydride, a polyolefinic resin and wood flour are charged in an extruder at the same time and the polyolefinic resin is mixed and kneaded with the wood flour simultaneously with performing the maleination reaction of the resin while melting the resin in the extruder. Then, the obtained raw material kneaded matter is extruded from the forming die of the extruder to manufacture the woody molded product. Since the polyolefinic resin is mixed and kneaded with the wood flour in the extruder simultaneously with the maleination reaction of the polyolefinic resin and the raw material kneaded matter is subjected to extrusion molding, the inexpensive maleic anhydride is used without adding an expensive maleinated polyolefin being a compatibilizing agent to increase strength or compatibilization to manufacture the inexpensive woody formed product having high strength.
