Abstract:
To provide a compressed wood product which allows the formation of clear patterns on the surfaces of the shaped wood with minimal differences among the individual product pieces and a compressed wood product.
Wood shaped out of a raw timber is softened in a high temperature and high pressure steamy atmosphere. The wood is deformed by applying compressive force on the softened wood in the steamy atmosphere. A pattern formed of at least one of letters, numerals, symbols, figures, images, and patterns is formed by coating the surface of the wood deformed by the applied compressive force with ink. The patterned wood is shaped into a desired shape while being heated in the atmosphere.
