To easily arrange carbon fiber bundles on a surface member with specified spacings by feeding the carbon fiber bundles cut into specified lengths onto the back side of the surface member through carbon fiber bundle inserting parts of spacing tool.
A flat plate 1 has parallel slits 2 (carbon fiber bundle inserts) at equal spacings to those of carbon fiber bundles to form a slit plate (spacing tool). This plate is laid on a surface member with the back side up, the carbon fiber bundles cut into specified lengths are inserted into the slits to result in that they are automatically disposed on the back side of the surface member with specified spacings. This enables adhesion of carbon fiber bundles to the back side of the surface member with adhesives fed through the slits after feeding of the carbon fiber bundles. The slit plate may be as large as covering the entire back side of the surface member or small as several tenths thereof.
