To enable reduction of the total allowable error of vehicle assembly and to improve the manufacturing method by seeing to it that an initial sub-assembly is formed while components are selected, and that remaining components are adjusted to be located by using the standard point of the initial sub-assembly and that they are additionally fixed at the prescribed position.
A single part is mounted on a front component set jig 114 of parts loading station 112. It is made possible that the position of parts is adjusted to be located against the sole standard point before clamping. After the clamping is completed, the set jig 114 is conveyed to a welding station 116, and a partly completed sub-assembly with an initial rigid structure is formed by the spot welding made by a welding robot 20. Next, the jig 114 is removed, and the assembly is mounted on the second welding jig 126 through a handling robot 150, and transferred to a welding station 116, and the addition of parts and additional spot welding is carried out. A rough estimation of total position error of this assembly process can be decreased.
