Abstract:
To provide a document reader that prevents erroneous detection of a document jam and suppresses document damage due to a jam detection delay.SOLUTION: A reader CPU is characterized that, if a leader image processing unit (leading edge detection unit) cannot detect a leading edge of a document from image data on a first surface of the document, a lead motor is stopped when a discharge sensor cannot detect an arrival of the leading edge of the document even if the document is transported by a second amount (L+L) smaller than a first amount (L+L) after a lead sensor detects the document.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
