Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map displaying method capable of easily grasping a relation between a destination (present position) and a peripheral situation, and capable of grasping a download progress rate of a detailed map, even when the detailed map is displayed in a narrow display area.
SOLUTION: When a detailed map (scale-reduction rate: large) around a destination (a present position positioned by a GPS) is displayed by user's requirement, a detailed map data is required to a map server at first, and a wide area map (scale-reduction rate: small) prepared preliminarily in a terminal is displayed at the same time. Then, the wide area map is enlargement-displayed stepwisely in response to a progress degree of data down-load of the detailed map. For example, wide area map magnification display of a level 1 is conducted when 33% of down-load is finished, the wide area map magnification display of a level 2 is conducted when 66% of down-load is finished, and the detailed map is displayed when 100% of down-load is finished.
