Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent generation of surge pressure by performing with a time delay sucking or ejecting operation on changing over of the supply of pressure oil into an oil chamber of a hydraulic cylinder in a rudder actuator. CONSTITUTION:A rudder actuator M1 for pivotally moving a tiller 1' is driven by pressure oil from pump units M2, M2' composed of hydraulic pumps 5a, 5b and driving motors 6a, 6b. The direction of the pressure oil supply is changed over by logical change-over valves 7a, 7b. Each of the valves 7 is composed of first change-over valves 24, 25 for communicating a discharge oil passage 17 with one of main oil passages 19, 20, second change-over valves 26, 27 for communicating a return oil passage 18 to the other of the main oil passage 19, 20, a change-over control mechanism 8 which receives steering instruction signals to supply control oil to each of the change-over valves 24-27 so as to decrease surge pressure on changing over of the direction of the pressure oil supply, timing adjustment means (restrictions) 37-41 and others.
