PURPOSE: To improve information readout precision by providing clock bit trains on a card proper so that the clock bit trains adjoin with corresponding pure binary-coded clock bit patterns in the clock bit trains.
CONSTITUTION: Photo sensors 16, 17, 18 are arranged in parallel with individual bit patterns 12a, 13a, 14a..., and the individual bit patterns 12aW14a of individual bit trains 12W14 are detected by laterally moving the photo sensors 16, 17, 18. The detected outputs are processed by a computer to read out the contents of a mark card 10 for process control. According to this constitution, the information can be increased in quantity and read out even under some vibrations, and readout precision can be improved by using the pure binary code to display various information.
