To provide a marker detecting system for detecting lateral position of a vehicle in relation to the direction of travel and other traveling information by using a radio wave marker.
This marker detecting system is provided with the markers 3 and 8 having a transmitter unit for transmitting a signal to the vehicle 2 and a plurality of on-vehicle receiver units 5 and 6 for receiving the signal transmitted from the markers to detect lateral position of the vehicle in relation to the direction of travel and the traveling information. As the marker, this system has a plurality of markers 8 which are arranged together at a certain angle against the direction of travel of the vehicle and the markers 3 which are arranged separately from each other, and the plurality of on-vehicle receiver units use the plurality of markers, which are arranged together, as the traveling information.
