Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a marker dye which chemically bonds to a substance having an amino or alcoholic hydroxyl group to function as a marker for the substance and is useful in, e.g. efficiently making spectroscopic analysis of a cell by synthesizing a specific polymethine cyanine derivative.
CONSTITUTION: This marker dye comprises a polymethine cyanine derivative represented by the formula (wherein X- is an anion of, e.g. Cl, Br, I, p- toluenesulfonate, or ClO4).
