To provide a marking device that has stable load on a workpiece from a pen nib and that is capable of marking with uniform darkness.
The marking device includes a marking pen mechanism 10 and a driving mechanism 20 that moves the marking pen mechanism 10 relatively to a workpiece W. The marking pen mechanism 10 comprises a pen shaft 12 having a pen nib 11 to be pressed against the workpiece W, an outer cylinder part 13 that houses the pen shaft 12 so as to make it movable forward and backward relative to the workpiece W, and a pressurized fluid introducing part 14 that introduces a pressurized fluid between the pen shaft 12 and the outer cylinder part 13. The pressurized fluid introducing part 14 comprises a hold introducing part 141 which holds the pen shaft 12 at a prescribed position inside the outer cylinder part 13 in a state of noncontact with it and an adjustment introducing part 142 which provides the pen shaft 12 with a pressing force in the opposite direction from the workpiece W and which adjusts a pen nib load from the pen shaft 12 to the workpiece W.
